I returned from a five-day trip to rural Nova Scotia feeling refreshed and immediately jumped back into hosting five events in seven days.
Would I recommend scheduling it that way? Absolutely not.
Did I mean to? Also no.
Did everything somehow come together? Thankfully, yes.
Was it worth it? Without a doubt.
From author readings and writing workshops to networking breakfasts, puppy yoga, business workshops and a charity volleyball tournament, it was one of our busiest stretches yet. More importantly, it was another reminder that CW Co-Work has become so much more than just a place to work. It's becoming a place where people gather, connect, learn and support one another.
The rest of the month settled into a more familiar rhythm around the Cabin. We welcomed several new faces through Day Tripper passes, introduced new members to the community, and continued to see the space buzzing with productive conversations, client meetings and spontaneous collaborations. There's an energy in the space right now that's exciting to be part of.
Now that summer has officially arrived, a few friendly reminders:
We have air conditioning! If your home office is feeling a little too warm, come escape the heat and enjoy a cool, comfortable workspace.
The coffee is always fresh - Coffee is on by 9am M-F
Don't hesitate to introduce yourself to someone new. Some of the best conversations around here start with a simple "What are you working on today?"
Weird Girls Book Tour does Elora - Colleen Fisher reading an original story to the group.
Here's a look back at June and everything coming up around the Cabin this month.
Weird Girls Book Tour & Writing Workshop
We closed out May by welcoming Jaclyn Desforges, Emma McKenna, and our own very own Colleen Fisher of Elora Writing Workshops for the Weird Girls Book Tour and Writing Weird Workshop. It was a wonderful afternoon of storytelling, creativity, and connection that brought together writers, readers, and curious minds from across the community.
26 Tuesday Coffee Talks
We were pleased to host the Centre Wellington Chamber of Commerce's travelling 26 Tuesday Coffee Talks networking event at CW Co-Work last month. It was a great morning of coffee, conversation, and new connections as local professionals gathered to share ideas, strengthen relationships, and support one another's businesses. We look forward to welcoming the group back again in the future.
Cabin, once again filling the space with laughter, 17 wagging tails, and plenty of smiles. Thank you to Gray's Fit & Fabulous who took us through all the restorative poses and Yankeedoodle Pups for another unforgettable evening that supported both wellness and early puppy socialization.
Work With Your Wiring
We were pleased to host Liisa Kukk of SEED Education Strategies + Solutions for Work With Your Wiring, an interactive workshop exploring executive functioning and productivity through a neurodiverse lens. Participants left with practical strategies to better understand how they work best and build systems that support sustainable success.
The number of systems and productivity tools that Liisa shared with the group was unbelievably helpful and allowed for each participants to decide which ones they could incorporate immediately to improve their workdays. In case you don't know this, I come from a long line of neurospicy go-getters and although most of the time I appear to have it all figured out, often I have a Wrestle Mania match happening in my head. The way Liisa breaks down the neuroscience of whats happening in there helped me to better understand why I struggle with specific things but the best part was what came next. Once she set the ground work, she then laid out all of the different ways to Work with YOUR Wiring rather than against it. Highly recommend checking out Liisa's work, she work with neurodiverse learners of all ages and backgrounds and beyond that is a truly delightful human.
Let us know if you are interested in seeing us do more workshops like this. We are also playing around with the concept of offering small entrepreneur cohorts that meet monthly for continuous learning and support opportunities. Send us an email at hellow@cwcowork.ca if you think this or a version of it would be of value to you.

Community Bulletin - Behind the Scenes Improvements
1. Workspace Booking:
As our community grows, we're working on implementing a desk and space booking system that makes it easier for everyone to access the spaces they need while keeping the experience as simple and transparent as possible.
Throughout July, we'll be testing a few different approaches with a small group of members before rolling anything out more broadly.
We're looking for your feedback.
If you've used booking systems you loved (or hated), we'd love to hear about your experience. Our goal is a process that's:
easy to use
low-touch for members
transparent
flexible
minimizes confusion around shared spaces
We appreciate your patience as we test, learn and refine the process.
2. Cabin Socials
One thing we've learned this spring is that spontaneous socials can be difficult to fit into everyone's schedules, especially after work hours when you are all home with your families. We're exploring a more consistent approach by introducing a monthly Cabin Social on the third Wednesday of each month from 3:30–5:00 PM.
The vision isn't another networking event.
It's simply an opportunity to sit down with other co-workers, maybe share some food, celebrate wins, ask question, meet fellow members on a more personal level and catch up with the people you don't see every day.
Low pressure. No agenda. Just community. And maybe some snacks.
Before we make it official, we'd love your feedback. Would this work for you? Is there another day or time you'd prefer? Do you have idea for a social that we could host? Email us hello@cwcowork.ca!
3. Member Stories Coming Soon
We're excited to begin sharing more of the incredible people behind CW Co-Work. We have already started reaching out to members to request a chance to interview you to learn more about your business/work, better understand what brings you to our space daily or weekly and offer some promotional opportunities for whatever it is you are working on yourself!
These stories will celebrate the businesses, people and journeys that make our community unique.
If you're interested in being featured, stay tuned for more information or drop us a note so we can coordinate a time to connect or share collateral to draft the content to be shared on social media.

Out-of-Office Note

Sara is also going to be off camping Mon/Tues July 20/21 but don't fret, members will still have access to the space.
Log Book Closing
As we head into the heart of summer, I want to thank each of you for being part of what we're building here.
One of my favourite moments each month isn't an event or a milestone—it's watching members stop to chat over coffee, celebrate a new client, offer a referral, or simply ask, "How's your week going?" Those everyday interactions are what transform a shared workspace into a community.
Over the coming months, we'll continue refining the member experience with initiatives like our new desk booking system, Member Spotlights, interview series, and regular Cabin Socials. As always, your feedback plays a huge role in shaping these ideas, so please don't hesitate to share your thoughts. The best ideas often come from conversations around the Cabin.
Whether you're escaping the heat for a productive workday, joining us for a coffee, or simply dropping in to say hello, I hope you'll find time to connect with someone new this month.
Here's to a productive, collaborative, and sunshine-filled July.

Fireside Update: May 29, 2026 Upcoming happenings you don't want to miss! Hi Co-Workers & Friends, Before we jump into this week’s events, I wanted to share a small reminder that’s been sitting with me after a recent trip to Nova Scotia: rest matters. As entrepreneurs, creatives, and community builders, many of us are wired to keep moving, keep producing, and keep saying yes. Taking a step back can feel uncomfortable, even when we know we need it. But spending a few days near the ocean...
